 Alvin Stardust shot to stardom in the seventies. He had already had four hit singles under the name of Shane Fenton but 'My Coo Ca Choo'-his debut single as Alvin Stardust - the mean and moody leather-clad persona - was massive. It became a huge international No. 1 hit and spent over six months in the charts. Numerous hits followed throughout the world, including four more Number Ones - 'Jealous Mind', 'You You You', 'Red Dress' and 'Good Love and he was awarded the "Music Week Best Male Recording Artist" award and the British Pop Awards "Best Live Performance".In the eighties he change to Stiff Records and 'Pretend' became a major top five hit throughout most of the world. When he later joined Chrysalis Records he became their top selling male singles artist with three consecutive hits 'I Feel Like Buddy Holly'' 'I won't run Away' and 'So Near To Christmas'.His career went from strength to strength. He co-produced pop videos, presented TV specials and co-hosted TV series as well as presenting his own radio show for BBC Radio 2. He has had two books published, was chosen to appear as the subject on 'This Is Your Life' and has been presented with the Music Business World Diamond Award.He then moved into musical theatre, starring in the smash-hit UK tour of 'Godspell'. He went on to play the narrator in "Side By Side by Sondheim", 'The Marquess of Queensbury' in Mike Read's musical "Oscar", based on the life of Oscar Wilde, 'Uriah Heep' in David Copperfield - the Musical", 'Eric Rubber Legs De Vene' in the highly successful cult musical "A Slice Of Saturday Night" and starred as the legendary 'Sir Billy Butlin' in "The Butlin Story" at The London Palladium. His straight acting career has also included the role of 'Gaston' in "Beauty and the Beast" and he also joined the cast of the Channel 4 soap "Hollyoaks". His sell out UK tours have included the "Solid Silver Seventies" tours with Showaddywaddy, The Rubettes, Mud and The Glitter Band. He also toured his own show "The Birth of Rock and Roll"  which he took to Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club, where he recorded a live album of the same name. He has also starred in a National tour of the rock musical "Rock Hard", a successful run with the cult "Rocky Horror Show" and a smash-hit 47 date sell-out UK tour with Suzie Quatro and The Rubettes.
