Roy Wood is probably one of the most influential singer/songwriters in pop history, in a career which spans thirty hit singles. His first success came with THE MOVE, one of the legendary sixties bands who were notorious for their on-stage antics; including the spectacular demolition of vehicles/amplifiers etc! Hits all written by Roy, include; 'Night of Fear', 'Flowers in the Rain', 'Fire Brigade', 'Blackberry Way', 'Brontosaurus' and 'California Man'. Roy then joined forces with Jeff Lynne, forming 'The Electric Light Orchestra, which had immediate success with the spine-tingling '10538 Overture'. ELO were to become a major band the world over, Roy co-writing and co-producing their first album. Never a person to stand still for long Roy's next venture was to form Wizzard, one of the most colourful and entertaining bands ever to grace the pop scene. His visual image of wildly multi-coloured hair, face paint coupled with bizarre clothing made him probably the most instantly recognized figure in the business! Debuting in the charts at No. 4 with 'Ball Park Incident'. Wizzard followed up with two No. 1's with 'See My Baby Jive' and 'Angel Fingers'. Then followed what was to become one of the greatest seasonal classics of all time, 'I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day' which still sells in tens of thousands two decades on! Other hits with Wizzard include 'Rock 'N' Roll Winter' and 'Are You Ready To Rock'. Under his own name Roy had hits with; 'Dear Elaine', 'Forever', 'Oh What A Shame', etc. He released a solo album, 'Boulders' which he wrote, produced and played all the instruments, followed by a second LP 'Mustard'. Once again Roy is at his wildly inventive best, fronting a brilliant twelve piece outfit, Roy Wood's Army, performing his classic hits as well as ever……
