The Smiths Indeed hail from the North West of England and are the number 1 tribute to The Smiths - the definitive British indie rock band of the 80s whose melodic three-minute pop singles were sublimely crafted by guitar genius Johnny Marr and lovelorn crooner Morrissey, and backed up superbly by bassist Andy Rourke and drummer Mike Joyce. The Smiths were recently voted The Most Influential Band of the Twentieth Century by the NME. Formed in Manchester in 1982, they played their last ever gig in December 1986 and it is highly unlikely they will ever reform.
